About Sylvia
I've been an artist for many years, after graduating from Cardiff College of Art.
I work in a variety of media and like to vary my subject matter, but my first love is atmospheric landscapes, wildlife and flowers in watercolour. I feel the delicate medium helps to portray the fragility and transience of nature, skies and the world around us.
I also like painting in acrylics and mixed media.
I spend as much time as I can out of doors, walking, taking photographs and sketching on site.
I feel that a successful work of art evokes an emotion that's passed on from the artist to the viewer, and if someone is moved enough to want to live with one of my paintings on their wall, then I feel I've achieved something special.
As well as painting from my conservatory studio at home, I have a gallery/studio in Model House on the second floor which is always open for visitors to browse and look at my paintings on display. If you'd like to meet me you'll need to make an appointment.
